With the temperature averaging somewhere around 79 F/26 C Clearwater, Florida was the perfect destination for the Contract Packaging Association Annual Meeting. Rebranded as ENGAGE, The Contract Packaging and Manufacturing Experience, this improved event was the largest networking experience for the Co-Packaging/Co-Manufacturing industry as well as its customers and suppliers.
With 35% of all food manufactured in the USA made at a contract packer, there is no denying: the industry keeps growing in size and in importance. This year’s meeting showed exactly that trend via insights on regulatory compliance, technology, marketing and education. Topics included: global trends, consumer trends, consumer behavior, strategic use of co-packers, use of robots, and cyber security.
Of note, The Strategic Use of CoMans / CoPacks Both Now and Into Future panel discussion; with panelists such as Erika Nava, Director of Supply Chain Growth and Optimization at Hershey and P&G’s Former EVP, Global Supply Chain, Mike Chaney was beyond informative. Thank you CPA for this extremely well thought event!
We were proud to showcase our top two Bag Sealers: Q800C and the gas-flush, award winning Q800CG. Entirely designed and manufactured in North America, our machines made quite an impression. Already looking forward to San Antonio next year!
